Traditional craftsmanship since 1948

Alois Haller (born in 1912 in S. Leonardo) recognized the value and importance of sheep wool shortly after the end of the Second World War. In 1948, he began processing this local and natural raw material. In the first years, the business focused on carding and spinning wool as a service for others. Later, they also started producing knitting yarn, socks, and jackets.

A Family Business Through the Years

The Beginnings

From 1950 on, the products were sold directly in the workshop and at markets throughout South Tyrol. In 1977, the sons Franz and Hansluis took over the family business and greatly expanded the product range.

Passion for Craftsmanship

In 1993, Margaret Haller, wife of Franz Haller, joined the business. She taught herself the necessary tailoring skills. In 2005, she completed a four-year pattern-making course at the vocational school ā€œDipl. Ing. Luis Zueggā€ in Merano. This allows her to create custom-made pieces and fulfill individual customer wishes.

Our Growth

In 1997, the growing demand for sheep wool products made it necessary to expand the company. New workspaces and a shop in St. Leonhard in Passeier were built. In the new shop, called SPINNRADL, customers can find a wide range of products.

Generation Future

In summer 2014, after finishing vocational school for clothing and fashion, Franziska Haller, the youngest daughter, joined the business as a custom tailor. During her training, she won an excellent third place at the regional skills competition in 2012.
Since 2018, she has officially taken over the family business and makes sure that the wheel keeps turning – with energy and new ideas.
